What we are
CarItch is an open, AI-scored leaderboard of India's most-felt car-ownership problems — clustered from real owner complaints, scored on severity, frequency, market size, and unsolvedness, and re-ranked weekly. The data layer is public; the methodology is here on this page. Full about page.

Methodology
Each problem ("itch") is scored 0-100 from four dimensions, weighted as follows:
itch_score = (severity × 0.30 + frequency × 0.25 + tam × 0.20 + whitespace × 0.25) × 10- Severity — financial loss, safety risk, time cost on the affected owner
- Frequency — how often this occurs across India's 300M+ vehicle owners
- TAM — total addressable market (number of owners potentially affected)
- Whitespace — how unsolved the problem is today (inverse of existing solution maturity)
Complaints are clustered by an LLM (Llama 3.3-70B) before scoring; fuzzy string matching catches near-duplicates upstream. Scores are recomputed every Sunday and the database trigger boosts frequency in real time as new complaints arrive on an existing itch.

What we don't do
- Endorse products, brands, or commercial services. Itch rankings are informational, not buying advice.
- Sell user data. Email collected via the site is used only for the optional newsletter and operational support.
- Run pixel-tracked ads or third-party retargeting. The site uses privacy-friendly analytics only.
- Verify the commercial claims of brands that appear in the index — we surface them, the community votes.

CarItch is operated by the CarItch Editorial Team, c/o Parkly — a research project by Parkly, based in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, India. Editorial decisions, scoring weights, and ranking calls are made independently of any commercial relationship Parkly has with vendors in the Indian automotive space.
